This series of photographs captures my experience documenting my daughter and her two teams during D2 Summit 2026. While the event itself is filled with nonstop movement, lights, and competition, this project became much more personal for me as both a photographer and a parent. Through these images, I wanted to preserve not only the performances, but also the emotion, pressure, excitement, and pride that surrounded the journey.
One of the teams earning 2nd place in the world made this experience especially meaningful. Watching the athletes push themselves through long days of competition, supporting one another, and ultimately reaching that level of success gave the series a deeper emotional weight.
Instead of focusing only on perfect stunts or routines, I was drawn to the moments that revealed the human side of the experience — nervous anticipation before taking the floor, emotional reactions afterward, small interactions between teammates, and the intensity visible in every performance.
Visually, the series emphasizes movement, dramatic stage lighting, and close perspectives to place viewers directly inside the environment. The fast pace of competitive cheer leading influenced the way I photographed the event, creating images that feel energetic, emotional, and immersive rather than static.
As someone who has always been passionate about sports photography, this project allowed me to combine that passion with a personal connection to the subject. These photographs represent more than competition results; they reflect dedication, teamwork, sacrifice, and the unforgettable experience of watching my daughter and her teams compete on one of the biggest stages in the sport.
